  • Martinsville Speedway to be Location of Drive-Thru COVID-19 Testing Site

    • Testing for qualified individuals will begin on Wednesday, April 8th
    • Testing hours are from 12pm to 4pm on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays
    • Site will be located at the Martinsville Speedway
    • The site will NOT be open to the public - you must go through a pre-screening process with your local physician who will need to send certain documents to the testing site
    • You also MUST be a resident of the City of Martinsville, Henry County, or Patrick County
  • Small Businesses Resources

    • Pay It Forward MHC - Forgivable loan up to $3,000 for for-profit MHC small businesses with 3-30 employees. Business must be based in Martinsville or Henry County for at least one year, owned by a Virginia resident. Quick application process and turn around for approval and fund distribution. Harvest Foundation-funded with applications processed through the Virginia 30-Day Fund.
    • Martinsville CARES Small Business Assistance- Grants are available to qualifying small businesses located in the City of Martinsville to aid in the recovery from the effects of the COVID 19 pandemic.

    • SBA Economic Injury Disaster Loan (EIDL) - Working capital loans to support small businesses experiencing loss of revenue due to the pandemic. Streamlined application. For businesses with less than 500 employees. Apply as soon as possible. TYPE: Loans
    • Paycheck Protection Program(PPP) under CARES Act - Direct incentive for small businesses to keep their workers on the payroll. TYPE: Loan (If certain criteria is met, the loan may be forgiven)
    • Economic Injury Disaster Loan Emergency Advance under CARES Act - Up to $10,000 loan advance to help overcome the temporary loss of revenue; made available within days of successful application. TYPE: Forgivable Loans
    • SBA Debt Relief Program under CARES Act - Assistance to small businesses by covering principal and interest for eligible 7(a) loans
    • SBA Express Bridge Loan under CARES Act - For small businesses who already have a business relationship with an SBA Express Lender to access up to $25,000 quickly. TYPE: Will be repaid in full or in part by proceeds from the EIDL loan
    • Families First Coronavirus Response Act - Requires certain employers to provide their employees with paid sick leave or expanded family and medical leave for specified reasons related to COVID-19.
    • SBA Overview of Emergency Loans - A cheat sheet by the SBDC summarizing SBA's programs including an easy comparison chart.
    • SBA Webinars on Programs and Application Process - Multiple webinars are offered each day. Participants can send questions for live responses. Simple registration required.

    • West Piedmont Rapid Response Business Support Initiative - To help small businesses (less than 250 employees) with certain costs that will mitigate or minimize job losses. Ex. paying for cleaning services or supplies,  purchasing items for teleworking, etc. A limited amount of funds available.
